Logistics consists in the planning, realization and controlling of a goods flow between a point of origin and a point of consumption. The core of logistics is grounded on delivering a required product to a required place and at required time, at a required quantity and quality, in an appropriate condition and at a required cost.

Transport is an indispensable element of an effective logistics. The main task of transport is to make decisions and to take actions towards integration and coordination of a process of goods flow, with the use of appropriate means of transportation, from the place when the goods are received, to the place of the goods destination.
